Arctic explorers was founded in 2012 by a local man. As one of the oldest and most experienced companies in Tromsø, Norway, we know how to create memorable tours.

We have 40+ years outdoor experience in the Tromso area, so we know very well where the nicest spots are, and how to chase the northern lights.

Our life-long connection with the Arctic has shown us that it is our Arctic landscape with its rich wildlife and its raw nature that is our major attraction. We will take you on memorable journey, and show you our treasures.

Safety

We value your safety above all on our trips. Our guides are well trained in first aid, we have solid equipment, and good expertise in the use of it. All our guides are also trained by a professional local driving instructor, with special focus on driving safe on ice and snow. We always have emergency beacons and satellite telephone on us when we are without mobile coverage. And we will rather cancel a trip than to take unnecessary risks. We understand that nature decides when it comes to the weather, and we always explore in harmony with nature. You can therefore be sure to stay safe on tours with us.

Teamwork

We want you to learn something from being on tour with us. On our tours we promote teamwork, where those who wish, may help to pack the right equipment, frying fish, read the map, choose the safest route, or to make a bonfire. It is through teamwork and cooperation that truly mastering takes place, and it is through the understanding of nature that your experiences and adventures feels strongest.

All included

We include everything required on our tours. We provide good and often typical norwegian food, clothing, equipment, and anything else that is needed. We offer only quality equipment. Those who wish, may bring with them their own equipment. There is no hidden costs on tour with us.

Ecotourism

We offer sustainable and responsible tours. On our tours evryone in the small group plays an essential part of the concept of ecotourism. Smaller groups influences nature less than large groups, and this is why we prefer to guid in smaller group of people. In small groups, the impact on nature are not as big, and we manage to be in nature without disturbing the wildlife unnecessarily. We preserve our natural and cultural heritage on earth, and its rich diversity. We support local people and communities, and we do what we can to ensure that the heritage that will be given to our children may be something we are proud of.

It is therefore natural for us to be a proud member of “The International Ecotourism Society“, and with them we combine conservation, communities and sustainable travel.
